If you like good Italian, this is the place. Being from outside Chicago, this is the closest I've found to home as far as Italian joints go. The pizza is very good, I recommend the sausage pizzola. The wife is a big fan of the lasagne as well. The prices are in line or less than the chains and the food is better. If you are local to Garland..give Ventoni a chance. You'll be pleasantly surprised. So we went into Vetoni’s on a Saturday night and expected a from-a-jar experience (It was on the way home and convenient.) but what we found was anything but "typical." The ambiance is what hit me first. The place is small and intimate - absolutely adorable - and we found authentic seasonings in excellent dishes, friendly people and, believe it or not, live music. The 3-piece group playing that particular night (I forget their name.) soothed us with soft jazz and blues. The lady singer had the softest voice, and then switched to some really gutsy stuff. As the night wore on (We stayed MUCH longer than we'd planned.) they moved on to more lively tunes and we were all singing along. They even had a male singer who sounded just like Frank Sinatra! By the way, I opted for the eggplant Parmesan, and my husband went for the lasagna, although I've heard the lobster ravioli is fantastic.
